River Basin Planning

The Yellow River is the one which carries the largest amount of sediment in the world, and that makes it one of the most difficult rivers to control in the world as well. Since it was established in 1956, YREC has always been committed to the great course of flood protection of Yellow River; prepared hundreds of comprehensive and special plans oriented to harnessing and developing the Yellow River; accumulated rich experience in silt-laden river management and development. Among those, the Short-term Action Plan for the Yellow River Management was approved by the State Council in 2002, and the Yellow River Flood Management Plan was approved by the State Council in 2008. The implementations of these programs have great significance to protect people's lives and property safety of the Yellow River basin, and promote the development of our economic society.
